Venus, Goddess of Love
Ho hey, whats up. Had an awesome last day with my travel partner yesterday, was sad to say goodbye to her today but I'm looking forward to what the next part of this journey holds for me. We went to the Gemäldegalerie Gallery yesterday and saw some amazing art. It was primarily work from the 13th to the 18th century. I was surprised to recognize quite a few names, mostly I studied in my high school art classes. I got to see a Sandro Botticelli, Venus painting. It's not the famous Birth of Venus, but it seemed to be a study of Venus which was still really amazing to see in person. This gallery wasn't very big or busy which was a nice change from the Van Gogh Museum, which was packed. It was also super quiet, the whole experience was really calming and relaxing.
We spent the rest of our day visiting other sights around Berlin like the Brandenburg Gate and the Holocaust Memorial. We finished off the day at a nice Mexican restaurant and went back to the hostel for bed. This morning I said bye to Nina. If you're reading this Nina, thank you for everything this past week or so. Your warmth and friendship helped me get through the rough beginning, and thanks for having patience with me. Now I have to start the real work, figuring out what I'm going to do with the next week ahead, where am I going to live? Am I going to work? All these unknowns are scary.. but exciting at the same time.
